Interior emulsion, exterior paint and waterproof coatings
Wall paints (emulsion/latex) are usually acrylic or vinyl-acrylic. Use a weather-resistant line outside and a waterproof coating such as No Drop on roof slabs or damp walls. Budget for putty and alkali primer too.
Tips for buying wall paint from manufacturers or distributors
- Paint makers rarely sell retail; project purchases go through official distributors or the maker's project team.
- Compare coverage (m² per kg or litre per coat), not just the price per can.
- For tinted colours, record the colour code and batch number so repeat orders match.
- Ask for TDS and MSDS, especially on projects with low-VOC requirements.
