Brick Fence Cost per Metre 2026: Brick, Foundation and Plaster

Brick fence cost (RAB) per metre calculated by homeX as of 23 October 2026 by combining our calculations for brick walls, plaster and rubble-stone foundations. For a 2 m fence (half-brick red-brick wall, plaster and skim coat both sides) on a 25/50 cm trapezoid rubble-stone foundation 60 cm high (homeX assumption), the cost is about Rp1,371,703 to Rp1,410,687 per running metre, depending on the split-stone price; 10 m is about Rp13,717,030 to Rp14,106,870. This covers masonry materials and labour only: practical columns, sloof, ring beams, rebar, paint, gate, excavation and contractor profit are not included, although a 2 m fence usually needs those structural elements according to designers. This is an estimate, not a lump-sum quote.
Brick fence cost per running metre by wall height
| Wall height | Red-brick wall | Plaster + skim 2 sides | Foundation (cheap-dear stone) | Total red brick (cheap / dear) | Total AAC 7.5 cm (cheap / dear) | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1,5 m | Rp267.497 | Rp522.162 | Rp318.825 – Rp357.809 | Rp1.108.484 / Rp1.147.468 | Rp1.055.735 / Rp1.094.719 | Bangun Jakarta Building – Upah Pasang Bata per m² 2026 |
| 1,8 m | Rp320.996 | Rp626.594 | Rp318.825 – Rp357.809 | Rp1.266.415 / Rp1.305.399 | Rp1.203.116 / Rp1.242.100 | Bangun Jakarta Building – Upah Pasang Bata per m² 2026 |
| 2,0 m | Rp356.662 | Rp696.216 | Rp318.825 – Rp357.809 | Rp1.371.703 / Rp1.410.687 | Rp1.301.371 / Rp1.340.355 | Bangun Jakarta Building – Upah Pasang Bata per m² 2026 |
| 2,5 m | Rp445.828 | Rp870.270 | Rp318.825 – Rp357.809 | Rp1.634.923 / Rp1.673.907 | Rp1.547.008 / Rp1.585.992 | Bangun Jakarta Building – Upah Pasang Bata per m² 2026 |
homeX calculation as of 23 October 2026 per running metre of fence. Wall: half-brick red brick Rp178,331 per m² and 7.5 cm AAC Rp143,165 per m², plaster and skim per side Rp174,054 per m², all from our wall cost article (AHSP 2026 coefficients via Bangun Jakarta Building, jumbo brick at Rp900, DKI daily wages). Rubble-stone foundation 1PC:4PP: Rp1,416,999 (cheap stone, Rp278,689/m³) to Rp1,590,264 (dear stone, Rp423,077/m³) per m³, from our foundation cost article (SNI 2836:2008) with a homeX-assumed section of 25/50 cm and 60 cm high = 0.225 m² per metre, so Rp318,825-Rp357,809 per running metre. The two source calculations use different cement prices: the foundation uses Rp1,500/kg (Bangun Jakarta survey median, n=113, delivery not included) and wall and plaster use Rp1,526/kg (SCG PCC 40 kg Rp61,050 at Mitra10, 23 October 2026); the gap is about 1.7%, and harmonising the foundation to Rp1,526/kg adds about Rp963 per running metre. Excludes practical columns, sloof, ring beams, rebar, paint, gate, excavation, fill and contractor profit; there is no price or coefficient data for those elements in this calculation. DKI wages; other regions differ. AAC here is a price comparison only; suitability for an outdoor fence must be checked with a designer.
Example 10 m fence 2 m high: material needs
Per running metre (half-brick red brick, plaster and skim both sides, 1PC:4PP foundation): 144 bricks, 98 kg cement (about 2.4 40 kg bags), 0.30 m³ sand and 0.27 m³ split stone. For 10 m: 1438 bricks, 976 kg cement (about 24 bags), 3.0 m³ sand and 2.7 m³ split stone. Cost about Rp13,717,030 (cheap stone) to Rp14,106,870 (dear stone). 7.5 cm AAC replaces the 144 red bricks per metre with AAC blocks per the AHSP coefficients used, and the 2 m total becomes Rp1,301,371-Rp1,340,355 per metre. This does not include site wastage beyond the index allowance and excludes columns and sloof.
Which part costs the most?
On a 2 m fence with cheap stone, plaster and skim on both sides are about 50.8% of the total per metre, the red-brick wall 26.0% and the foundation 23.2%. Two-side plastering costs more than the brick wall itself (Rp696,216 vs Rp356,662 per metre) because both sides are counted in full with skim; a fence plastered on one side or left exposed would be cheaper, but that is another scenario we did not calculate. The gap between the cheap-stone and dear-stone scenarios is only Rp38,984 per metre (2.8%) because the foundation volume per metre is small.
Limits of this fence calculation
A tall fence normally needs reinforced-concrete practical columns, sloof and ring beams for stability against wind and loads; their spacing and size are set by a designer and are not in this calculation, so the real total is higher. The 25/50 cm by 60 cm foundation section is a homeX assumption, not a standard; depth depends on the soil. The old SNI indices and AHSP 2026 coefficients are used as quoted in our wall and foundation cost articles, with DKI wages and stone prices from suppliers and e-commerce monitoring, not an official survey. Buyer tips
- Ask a designer to set practical columns, sloof and ring beams before budgeting a tall fence.
- Decide first whether to plaster both sides, one side or leave it exposed, because plaster is the largest component.
- Check the stone type and foundation size in the drawings, and ask whether the stone price includes delivery and unloading.
- Add rebar, paint, gate, excavation and contractor profit; this calculation covers only masonry materials and labour.
