Building Materials Distributors Expand Showrooms and Warehouses: Buildhaus and Fortress

Buildhaus opened a showroom in Denpasar and Fortress moved to a bigger Bandung warehouse as building materials distributors in Indonesia move closer to buyers.
In the building materials business, being close to buyers is an advantage. Two pieces of news from October 2026 show the same pattern: building material distributors and manufacturers are expanding their showrooms and warehouse capacity so products are easier to see, choose and deliver.
Batara Group opens Buildhaus in Denpasar
RealEstat.id reports that Batara Surya Semesta (Batara Group) officially opened its first Buildhaus showroom on Jalan Gatot Subroto Timur, Denpasar, Bali, on Tuesday, 6 October 2026. The showroom was opened by Batara Group President Director Daniel Surya Tandi and attended by the Bali chairs of the Indonesian Institute of Architects (IAI) and the consultants' association Inkindo.
Batara Group was founded in Jakarta in 1971 as a building materials manufacturer and store. After opening a branch in Surabaya in January, Denpasar became its third city and the location of its first showroom, alongside its networks in Semarang and Surabaya. On about 400 square metres, Buildhaus displays hundreds of product categories, from waterproofing membranes, roof insulation and turbine ventilators to sealants, mineral wool and phenolic board. Batara Group is also an authorised distributor for several brands, including A Plus gypsum board, Lysaght light steel and Onduline roofing.
Batara Group Commercial Director Reissa Siregar acknowledged that the company's sales network is still limited and concentrated in Java, so the manufacturer plans to add outlets in major cities. She said Buildhaus lets customers see material colour, texture, size and finish in person through application mock-ups, while discussing the type and quantity they need with the sales team. The showroom is also positioned as an architecture hub where architects, contractors and developers in Bali can meet and attend product presentations.
Fortress moves to Soekarno-Hatta, Bandung
In West Java, Liputan Bandung reports that PT Jaya Bersama Saputra Perkasa (Fortress) inaugurated its new branch office at Jalan Soekarno-Hatta No. 101, Bandung, on Saturday, 17 October 2026. The office moved from Batununggal, where capacity was limited, and now has a more representative showroom and a larger warehouse, in a location closer to a toll gate.
Fortress founder and CEO Joni Effendi said the larger warehouse allows the company to hold more inventory to keep products available. He sees this as important at a time when a weaker rupiah could raise the cost of imported raw materials and logistics, and named logistics efficiency as one of the strategies used to hold back selling-price increases. Fortress now has 18 branch offices and three main product lines: steel doors, smart locks and PVC wall panels.
Lessons for the building materials market
Both moves show that building material buyers, especially contractors, architects and homeowners, want to see and touch materials before buying, while suppliers need enough stock close to the market to deliver quickly and keep prices steady. Combining a showroom and a warehouse in a strategic location near toll access is an increasingly popular model.
For buyers, things worth checking when choosing a building material shop or distributor include the availability of product samples, clear authorised-distributor status, stock capacity and the ability to deliver to the project site on schedule.
Where homeX fits in
The showroom-plus-warehouse-and-delivery model is also the foundation of homeX, a one-stop building materials and furniture service platform in Indonesia. From its showroom and warehouse in Tangerang, homeX serves contractors, hardware stores and homeowners, with the long-term aim of building an integrated warehousing and delivery network for building materials across Indonesia. homeX supplies the materials, and partner tukang help with delivery and installation on site.
