B2B Building Materials Platforms and Supply Chain Digitalisation: From AZKO to Dow

From AZKO's 29 distribution centres to Dow's new platform, the B2B building materials platform model is changing how materials are bought and delivered.
Buying building materials in Indonesia has long meant phone calls, text messages and manual stock checks. Two developments in recent weeks point in a different direction: the materials supply chain is increasingly built on connected distribution centres and digital systems that show stock and delivery status in real time.
AZKO: 29 distribution centres from Aceh to Papua
CNBC Indonesia reports that PT Aspirasi Hidup Indonesia Tbk (ACES), which runs the AZKO home improvement retail chain, keeps products available and distribution costs efficient with the supply chain infrastructure of its parent, Kawan Lama Group. AZKO is supported by 29 distribution centres (DCs) spread from Aceh to Papua: 6 in Sumatra including Batam and Tanjung Morawa, 8 in Java, 5 in Kalimantan, 4 in Sulawesi and 2 each in Nusa Tenggara, Maluku and Papua.
This network supports 283 AZKO stores in more than 100 cities. Kawan Lama Group itself operates 20 integrated distribution centres. To handle heavy delivery volumes, the company uses Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications that give a complete view of distribution flows, backed by a truck fleet of various types and capacities.
ACES director Gregory S. Widjaja said the company will focus on developing its product portfolio, strengthening supply chain capabilities and using digital technology and AI. According to the same report, AZKO sales grew 6.5% year to date through July 2026. ACES aims to open 25 to 30 AZKO stores in 2026 and had opened 19 by September, including in new cities such as Berau, Pasuruan, Timika, Kuningan, Baturaja, Jepara and Mamuju.
Dow Master Connect: a B2B platform for construction materials
On the manufacturer side, Dow Inc. launched Dow Master Connect (DMC) in Indonesia on 1 September 2026. According to Medcom.id and Suara.com, the platform brings marketing, distribution and the purchase of sealants and construction materials into a single system. Users can browse the product portfolio digitally, place orders, track delivery status in real time and check stock availability. DMC can be accessed via the web, mobile devices or a dedicated app, and includes a mechanism to help verify product authenticity.
Jean Paul Hautekeer, Dow's Global Strategic Marketing Director for Building & Infrastructure, said the locally tailored approach creates a digital ecosystem that drives efficiency, transparency and sustainable growth for all stakeholders.
Why it matters for building material buyers
Both examples show that digital transformation in construction is not limited to design and site work; it is reaching procurement and material distribution too. For contractors, hardware stores and homeowners the benefits are tangible: clearer stock information cuts the time spent hunting for products, order tracking helps prepare unloading crews on site, and recorded transactions make project budgets easier to control.
Still, digital systems only work when they are backed by reliable warehouses and fleets. Distribution centres close to the market, a well-run WMS and delivery schedules that can be trusted remain the foundation of a healthy building material supply chain.
