Mandatory SNI Building Materials Indonesia 2026: Cement, Rebar, Ceramic Tiles, Steel

Mandatory SNI building materials are products that producers and importers may not put on the market without an SNI certificate and SNI mark. As of 23 October 2026, what we verified from official regulation text or pages: cement (Permenperin 26/2024, 15 July 2024), concrete reinforcing steel (Permenperin 55/2024, 15 October 2024), ceramic tiles (Permenperin 36/2024) and zinc-coated steel sheet (Permenperin 67/2024, 13 November 2024). For plywood we found no mandatory-SNI Permenperin. This article explains the SNI mark, SPPT SNI and the electronic mark, not the certification process (see the homeX imported-SNI article).

How to check the SNI mark on goods arriving at the project

homeX analysis, not an official procedure: ask for a copy of the supplier SPPT SNI and SNI certificate before ordering, match the factory name, product type and validity with the label on the goods, and photograph the label at unloading. For products with an electronic mark, open the link on the certificate to compare the data in SIINas. If the data do not match or there is no mark at all, hold payment and note it in the goods receipt record.

Mandatory SNI, voluntary SNI and factory specification

Mandatory SNI applies only to products covered by a Permenperin; other products may have a voluntary SNI or only a factory data sheet. In the RFQ, write the SNI number required and, if not mandatory, state that the factory data sheet and laboratory test results are acceptable instead. Buyer tips

Ask for a valid SPPT SNI, not just an SNI logo on the packaging.
Match the factory name and product type on the certificate with the label on the goods.
For rebar, do not accept stock without an SNI mark now that the transition has ended.
For plywood, write the factory spec and test results, not a mandatory-SNI claim.
